June Shout Outs for colleagues across Wellgate

Every month, we ask leaders, managers, team leaders and colleagues across Wellgate to tell us about the colleagues who deserve a moment in the spotlight. The ones who show up, go further than they need to, and make a real difference to the people around them.

This month, we've got a Deputy Manager who started as a tea girl at thirteen, a trip to Discobility in Folkestone, a filming day at Horizon House, and colleagues across the north and south just quietly getting on with it and doing a brilliant job.

A reminder that anyone can send in a shout-out. It doesn't have to be about something big or extraordinary. Sometimes it's just about noticing someone who keeps showing up, especially when things are tough. If someone deserves a moment, tell us.

Check out June’s Shout Outs

Thank you to everyone who sent a Shout Out this month.

Why do we take time to recognise each other

In care, good work happens every day, especially when there's no one watching, when a colleague goes the extra mile, or when someone holds things together on a really tough shift. Most of the time, people just go home not knowing whether anyone noticed.

That's what Shout Outs are for. Not just the big moments, but the everyday ones. Showing up. Being kind. Helping out without being asked. If someone did something that stuck with you, tell us. It takes two minutes, and it means a lot more to the person reading it than you might think.

Every month is a fresh opportunity to celebrate someone who deserves it. We'd love to hear from you next time. Email your Shout Out to ash.akhtar@clubwellgate.com

And while you're here...

If reading these has made you think of someone who deserves even bigger recognition, nominations for the Club Wellgate Recognition Awards are open until 31 July. Thirteen categories, a ceremony at The Ivy Club on 9 September, and a real chance to make sure the right people get the moment they deserve.

Get nominating. It takes five minutes.
