Sandgate Manor residents’ June-July newsletter

It's been a proper busy few months at Sandgate Manor.

We kicked things off with our own version of Trooping the Colour. Union flags went up, bunting came out, and there were cupcakes iced in red, white and blue for everyone. A few residents even dressed the part, and there was a lot of very enthusiastic royal waving.

Not long after, we had a visit that went down even better than the cupcakes: Cuddly Cavies came in with a whole armful of guinea pigs for everyone to hold, stroke and feed. Judging by the smiles in every single photo, it's safe to say this one's going to be a regular fixture.

The sunshine's brought its fair share of fun too. We've had trips out to the park, gentle walks by the water, and afternoons in the garden that ended up with paddling pools, ball pits, and more than a few soggy feet. Nothing beats a good laugh outdoors.

We also want to introduce you to Sally Nicholls, one of our residents, who put together her own diary this month. Sally loves getting out and about, especially bowling and trips to the zoo, where ducks and llamas are her firm favourites. She's also a keen baker, and there's nothing quite like a cake made for your mum with your own hands.

And finally, a huge mention for Sarah Baker, who took on Race for Life for the fourth year running. Sarah lives with cerebral palsy and was diagnosed with bowel cancer back in 2010.

She's now cancer-free, and every year she takes on this race for everyone still fighting the disease, and everyone who's lost someone to it.
