Meet Jack, the Grafton resident who loves to sing
Rebecca Lee, Team Leader, The Grafton
One of the best bits of my job is getting to see moments like this.
Jack is one of the people we support at Grafton, and if you ask anyone who knows him, they'll tell you the same thing: he loves to sing, and he's properly passionate about it too.
He very proudly shared this video of him singing a number from a musical alongside his brother, and watching it back gave me goosebumps. You can see how much he loves it, and how proud he is of himself when he sings, because he absolutely should be.
This isn't new for Jack either. He's performed in numerous shows at the Acorn Theatre in Worksop, a fantastic community theatre that's given performers of all ages and abilities a stage to shine on since 2006. He's built up real experience there, and it shows.
What's happening right now might be my favourite bit of all, though. Jack's brother and sister are performing in shows down in London, and Jack travelled there himself, independently, to go and support them. He had a great time getting there and an even better time watching them perform.
I’m so proud of Jack making his own way to London because he wanted to be there for the people he loves, then coming home and singing his heart out because he's proud of what he can do.
One request from Jack before this went anywhere: if we're sharing the video, make sure it's mostly the singing. Fair enough, Jack. Over to you.
