Welcome to Rob McAfee, our new Chief Executive

We're really pleased to welcome Rob McAfee as our new Chief Executive Officer at Wellgate this month.

Rob has spent 20 years working in some of the UK's leading care organisations, including the Priory Group, CareTech, and, most recently, Swanton Care & Community, where he led services supporting hundreds of adults across the UK. But what really sets him apart is where he started. Rob began his career as a Support Worker, and that experience has shaped everything about the way he leads.

Over the coming weeks and months, Rob will be getting out and about, visiting services, spending time with teams, and saying hello to many of you in person. Please do make him feel welcome when you see him.

Here's a message from Rob in his own words.

"I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Wellgate. I started my career, like many of you, as a Support Worker, learning hands on and discovering just how much impact high quality care can have on people’s lives.

For me, it's always been about the people. The people we support, and the brilliant people who show up every day to do this work. That's what drives everything.

A week in, I’m already getting a real sense of Wellgate, and I’m really looking forward to spending more time out and about—visiting services and, most importantly, meeting you all in person. There’s so much to learn, and I’m excited for what’s ahead."
